Sacred Heart is proud to be a Catholic School where faith values are central to everything we do. Our learning community is embodied by both our school and parish.
“We provide a warm and welcoming environment where your child is always at the centre.”
I extend a heartfelt welcome to you and your family. It is a privilege to work in partnership with our students, staff, families and parishioners in Catholic Schools Broken Bay. I am committed to leading our school community in a way that enables us to work together to achieve our shared goals and to develop and shape our students through faith-based experiences.
The parish community of Pymble has been blessed for many years by the presence of two vibrant Catholic primary schools; Sacred Heart, Pymble and Our Lady of Perpetual Succour, West Pymble. Sacred Heart and Our Lady of Perpetual Succour are both currently Kindergarten to Year 6 co-educational schools with rich traditions and a strong sense of belonging. We pride ourselves on positive, connected relationships with our parents and the broader community. Our schools have a strong foundation in the Mercy values, building on the work of The Sisters of Mercy from North Sydney, who began teaching in Pymble in 1893.
We aim to create safe, nurturing and stimulating environments that are built on meaningful relationships and the valuing of every person. We care for and appreciate each of our students as the unique individuals that they are, each with distinct talents, interests and needs. We strive for high academic standards, aiming to maximise the learning growth for every student while also supporting wellbeing and building collective responsibility. We foster collaboration, innovation and continuous improvement in a learning community that also celebrates diversity and human flourishing.
To continue meeting the spiritual, educational, and pastoral needs of our growing community, Sacred Heart and Our Lady of Perpetual Succour will soon be unified into one Catholic co-educational college, expanding to include secondary education (Years 7–12). This next chapter in the educational mission of the parish, in collaboration with Catholic Schools Broken Bay, will ensure a consistent and holistic Catholic education from Kindergarten through to Year 12.
The new Siena Catholic College will draw inspiration from two of the Church’s most influential saints, St Bernardine of Siena and St Catherine of Siena, both renowned for their deep love of God, devotion to Jesus and Mary, and commitment to truth, charity, and evangelisation. The Sacred Heart of Jesus and Our Lady will thus remain central figures in the new College identity. The lives and teachings of St Bernardine and St Catherine offer strong connections to the charisms of the existing schools and provide a spiritually rich foundation for the new College.
We are excited to welcome the first intake of Year 7 students to the Senior Campus in Pymble in January 2027. 2027 will also see the last Kindergarten cohort begin their education at the Pymble campus. By 2032, the transition to a full K-12 college will be complete with students in Junior Years K-4 located on the Junior campus at West Pymble and students in Years 5-12 located on the Senior campus in Pymble.
Implementation of the K-12 College is being led by Brenda Timp, previously the Principal at Mercy Catholic College, Chatswood. Brenda has twenty-five years of experience as an educator, having held various roles as a Year Co-ordinator, English Coordinator, Director of Professional and Student Learning, Assistant Principal and Principal across three of our secondary schools. Mrs Jodi Jefferson (Principal, Our Lady of Perpetual Succour) and I are working very closely with her on this exciting initiative that will offer an additional choice to parents on the North Shore and that will carry forward the outstanding academic education, pastoral care and sacred traditions of both founding schools under a shared vision for faith-filled, lifelong learning.
I invite you to explore our website and the Siena Catholic College landing page to gain a snapshot of what our school offers and the opportunities we provide for each student to find their purpose, reach their potential and thrive.
I believe that choosing to enrol your child with us will be both rewarding and fulfilling, and you will experience a warm and welcoming environment where your child is always at the centre. I look forward to meeting you personally and walking beside you as we support your child to be their best self.
I encourage you to contact our school office to make an appointment to take a tour of the school and to discuss how we can support your child’s educational journey.

Kerry Paxton, Principal
