Medications at School

Staff at Sacred Heart are only permitted to administer medication to students when it is accompanied by written instructions from a medical practitioner. This includes prescribed medications as well as non-prescribed medications (in line with Diocesan Work Health & Safety procedures). This policy applies to all students and is in effect during school hours as well as at any school-related activity, including excursions, camps and sporting events. All requests for medication to be administered must be submitted with a completed Authorisation to Administer Medication Form. This form is available to download below.

Extended Leave

If a parent or carer intends to take their child out of school for 10 or more days due to a holiday, overseas travel, or family reasons, an Application for Extended Leave Form must be submitted to the Principal prior to the leave being taken. (This requirement is in accordance with the NSW Education Act 1990.)

Please download the form below and return the completed application along with a copy of your travel itinerary or e-ticket to the school office. Once approved, the school will issue a Certificate of Extended Leave. After receiving this certificate, you can then enter your child’s leave on the Compass Parent Portal.
